Colonel Santosh Babu, who fought relentlessly against the Chinese army in the Galwan Valley in the Ladakh sector, has been awarded the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously.
President Ram Nath Kovind handed over this honor to his mother and wife in a program held on Tuesday. Colonel Santosh Babu was posted at the observation post in Galwan Valley, at the same time the Chinese army attacked India, after which Santosh Babu went ahead and faced the enemy and died for the country.
Subedar Sanjeev Kumar of Para Special Forces was awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously. He got this honor for a military operation in Jammu and Kashmir. In this they killed one terrorist and injured two. He was martyred while fighting the terrorists.
Subedar Nuduram Soren was awarded the Vir Chakra for his bravery and bravery during Operation Snow Leopard in Galwan Valley, his wife received the honor at the hands of the President.
Havildar K Palani was also awarded the Vir Chakra for valiantly combating the Chinese army in the Galwan Valley and driving the enemy’s army back. The award was given posthumously to his wife.
Naik Deepak Singh, who demonstrated gallantry in the Chinese army’s attack on Galwan Valley in June last year, was also awarded the Vir Chakra posthumously.
Sepoy Gurtej Singh, who was martyred while fighting valiantly in the attack of the Chinese army, was also awarded the Vir Chakra.
President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Param Vishisht Seva Medal to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Vivek R Choudhary at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
Havildar Tejinder Singh was awarded the Vir Chakra for his courageous display in the Galwan Valley to destroy the plans of the Chinese army and prevent further advance. He fought with the Chinese soldiers until he was seriously injured.
