Meerut: Two guys were detained by Meerut Police in collaboration with Army Intelligence for defrauding people by promising them positions in the Indian army. Along with the other goods used in the fraud, police also found a weapon, army supplies, an army uniform, and other items.
Rahul and Bittu have been named as the defendants. Bittu lives in Daurala, Meerut, while Rahul is a native of Muzaffarnagar. The pair used to entice young people with promises of positions in the military before defrauding them. They also gave the victims false ID cards and appointment letters.

Fake job offers for army
Manoj, a Ghaziabad resident, reported the incident to the Daurala police station in Meerut after accusing the defendant.
He claimed in his allegation to have met the accused while in Faizabad in 2019 for army enlistment. Rahul assured Manoj that he would secure jobs for both Manoj and his brother in the military. Manoj paid Rs 16 lakh for the item because he trusted him.
Additionally, Rahul called Manoj to Pathankot for training and distributed appointment letters. One of Rahul’s conspirators, Bittu, used video conversations with the victims during this scam to avoid being recognised as a suspect.
Manoj even received a phoney army uniform and ID card from the suspects in Pathankot. He spent four months there at work.

Army Intelligence officer interrogated Manoj
The entire situation came to light when an Army Intelligence officer questioned Manoj due to a suspicion. His I-card and appointment letter were discovered to be forgeries.
After that, a case was filed, and the police detained both of the accused.
