VK Singh: General VK Singh, a Union Minister and a former Army commander, emphasised the necessity of isolating Pakistan on Thursday. “We have to think. Because unless we isolate Pakistan, they will think it is business as normal. If we have to bring them under pressure, we have to isolate them,” VK Singh said. “They need to know that no normal relations can be maintained unless you yourselves become normal,” he added.
VK Singh’s Call to Action After Tragic J&K Encounter
When asked about the deaths of Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonak, and DSP Humayun Bhat during the Anantnag encounter in Jammu and Kashmir, Singh made the comment. “Separate Pakistan, only then will something happen. Pressure will have to be applied. Sometimes a film person will come, sometimes a cricket person will come. But we have to separate them,” the union minister said. In an encounter with the terrorists on Wednesday at Gadole in the Kokernag region of Anantnag district, the commanding officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifles, a major rank officer, and a deputy superintendent of police all died.
Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Ongoing Operation
The Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Thursday that two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists had been “encircled” in the Anantnag area. “In solemn tribute to the unwavering valor of Col Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonak & DSP Humayun Bhat who laid down their lives leading from the front during this ongoing operation. Our forces persist with unwavering resolve as they encircle 2 LET terrorists including Uzair Khan,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X. On Wednesday, DGP Dilbag Singh expressed his sorrow over the passing of the courageous police and army personnel. He stated in a message that every life lost is tragic and promised that those responsible for the atrocity will soon face justice.
