Modi inaugurates AIIMS, flags off Vande Bharat Express

The country’s Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Nagpur on Sunday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Raosaheb Danve were also present on this occasion. Prime Minister Modi had laid the foundation of this hospital in 2017. It has been built at a cost of Rs 1,575 crore and is located in the Wardha Road area.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the first phase of the Nagpur-Mumbai ‘Samridhi Expressway’ during his visit to Maharashtra. The 520-km first Marhale Expressway connects Nagpur to Shirdi in Ahmednagar district. Its official name has been kept as ‘Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samridhi Mahamarg’. The total length of the project will be 701 km. After the completion of ‘Samridhi Expressway’, the travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai by road will be reduced to seven hours.

Leave for Vande Bharat Express

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train connecting Nagpur in Maharashtra to Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. The program to flag off the train took place here at Nagpur railway station. During the program, Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Nagpur and Ajni railway stations. He made public the government maintenance depot at Ajni in the city and the Kohli-Narkhed section of the Nagpur-Itarsi third line project.

Enjoyed Metro Rail

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project on Sunday and enjoyed a metro train ride with the children. Modi also laid the foundation stone of the second phase of the metro project in the city. The Prime Minister along with the students took a metro rail ride from Zero Mile Freedom Park to Khapri station. Under the first phase of the project, there are 36 stations within a radius of 40 km. Officials told that the cost of construction of the first phase has been more than Rs 8,650 crore and the second phase will be built for more than Rs 6,700 crore.
