New Delhi: The Mughal Garden at New Delhi ‘s Rashtrapati Bhavan was renamed Amrit Udyan on Saturday by the Central government. As per the statement, the renaming was done by the Central government in keeping with the “Amrit Mahotsav” concept commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence.
President Murmu to inaugurate Amrit Udyan
On Saturday, President Murmu’s deputy Press secretary Navika Gupta remarked, “On the occasion of the celebrations of 75 years of Independence as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the President of India has given a common name to the Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens as Amrit Udyan.”
On Sunday, January 29, President Droupadi Murmu will officially open the Amrit Udayan, which will thereafter be accessible to the general public from January 31 through March 26. Usually, from February to March, when the flowers are in full bloom, the garden is accessible to the public for one month.
The government intends to keep the garden open for viewing by particular groups, including as farmers and people with disabilities, in addition to the two-month window that has been made accessible for public viewing, according to Navika Gupta.

Amrit Udyan to open for public from 31st January
Typically, the Mughal Gardens are accessible to the general public for one month each year. The Mughal Gardens, which include the Rectangular, Long, and Circular Gardens, the Herbal Garden, Musical Garden, and Spiritual Garden, are all open to visitors.
