Mulayam Singh Yadav: Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and founder of the Samajwadi Party Mulayam Singh Yadav remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Sunday and is maintaining vital signs while receiving life-saving medications, the hospital said.
According to Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, the medical director of Medanta Hospital, Mulayam Singh Yadav is receiving care from a multidisciplinary team of doctors. Since August 22, Yadav has been receiving treatment in preparation for his routine medical exams and inspections. He was transferred to the ICU at Medanta Hospital last Sunday after his condition abruptly began to deteriorate.
Mulayam Singh Yadav, former chief minister of UP, is currently 82-years old. He has been elected as a MLA for ten times and seven times as a MP. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called to Akhilesh earlier on Sunday and asked him how his father was doing.

One of the most well-known politicians in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav has had three terms as the state’s chief minister and has also held the position of defence minister in the federal government.
Rajnath Singh, the defence minister for the Union, met Yadav in the hospital on Friday. Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, and Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), both went to the hospital on Wednesday to meet Mulayam Singh Yadav.
