Mulayam’s wish shocked the entire opposition
Mulayam Singh Yadav’s remarks towards Narendra Modi during the 16th Lok Sabha session astounded both his son and the entire opposition. He expressed his desire for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return to that position by saying, “I want to congratulate the Prime Minister that he tried to move forward by taking everyone along. I hope all the members will return to the House after winning the re-election and you (Narendra Modi) will become the Prime Minister again.”
The opposition was preparing to establish a maha gathbandhan (grand coalition) ahead of the 2019 general elections to challenge Modi’s BJP. His remarks praising and forecasting Modi’s victory sparked a hornet’s nest and shocked his son Akhilesh Yadav as well.
