The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday arrested Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze in connection with the case of an explosive-laden vehicle being found near the house of industrialist Mukesh Ambani. The NIA has taken this action after being questioned for 12 hours.
Vaze was summoned to the agency’s Mumbai office at Kumbhla Hill in South Mumbai at around 11.30 am to record his statement. There was no official update on it throughout the day.
An NIA spokesman said in a brief statement late Saturday night that he was arrested by the NIA at 23.50 pm on February 25 in connection with receiving gelatin sticks in a vehicle near Ambani’s house on Carmichael Road. “An NIA spokesperson said that Vaze was arrested for his role and involvement in allegedly possessing an explosive-laden vehicle near Carmichael Road.”
On 25 February, Sachin Vaze has confessed to being part of a group of explosives laden Scorpio on Carmichael Road . ANI also stated that Vache has been arrested under sections 286, 465, 473, 506 (2), 120B of the IPC and section 4 (a) (b) (I) of the Explosive Substances Act 1908. They or sections have been charged on February 25 for being involved in planting a car full of explosives outside Mukesh Ambani’s house.
In the case of businessman Mansukh Hiren’s death, ATS and NI have asked Sachin Vaze. Following allegations made by former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the government transferred the vajage made by the investigating officer in the case of an explosive car. Known as an encounter special, Vaze had also filed a anticipatory bail petition in Thane sessions court. The court rejected his demand.
