What is the matter?
The crew member of Air India had told the police in his statement that smoking is prohibited in the flight. When American citizen Ramakant went to the bathroom, the alarm started ringing. After this we all ran towards the toilet. We immediately took the cigarette from the hand of the accused and threw it away.
On this, the accused Ramakant started shouting at the crew member. When the crew member took him and made him sit on the seat, he started trying to open the flight door. All the passengers got scared of this. After this, we tied the hands and feet of the accused and made him sit on the seat.
What did the police say?
Sahar police told that after the flight landed, we were handed over to Ramakant. We took him into custody and registered a case against him. The accused is of Indian origin, but a citizen of the United States of America.
He has an American passport. Police said that we have sent the sample for the medical test of the accused. By doing this, it can be ascertained whether he was in a state of intoxication at that time or whether his mental condition is correct or not.
