According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure system has developed in the Bay of Bengal and it is likely to move in the northwest direction. Due to this, there is a possibility of increasing rains in Maharashtra in the next four to five days, the Meteorological Department has predicted this. Meanwhile, a red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Mumbai till Friday.
Schools and colleges closed
In this background, a holiday has been declared in all government and private primary, secondary and higher secondary schools as well as in all colleges. Meanwhile, Mumbai and Konkan region are also likely to receive heavy rains today. Orange alert has been given for rain in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Satara districts. Red alert has been given in Pune district. On the other hand, orange alert has been issued for rain in entire Vidarbha today. A yellow alert has been issued for rain in northern Maharashtra including some districts of Marathwada.
Heavy rain warning in mumbai today
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Mumbai today. In this background, keeping in mind the safety of the students, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Iqbal Singh Chahal has declared a holiday for all government and private primary, secondary and higher secondary schools as well as all colleges in the Municipal Corporation and Mumbai today.
