Narcotics Control Bureau: In the largest seizure by the agency in a single operation in the previous 20 years, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday dismantled a pan-Indian drug trafficking network operating on the darknet and seized 15,000 blots of LSD, also known as lysergic acid diethylamide, a synthetic chemical-based hallucinogen. In connection with the incident, six people were detained.

0.1 grammes of LSD were used commercially, according to NCB deputy director general (DG) Gyaneshwar Singh, but the drug shipment that was intercepted included 2.5 times that amount. “We have detained six suspects in two cases and recovered 15,000 LSD blots, which is 2,500 more than the legal limit. This medication comes in commercial quantities of 0.1 grammes. It is a particularly deadly synthetic substance. The largest seizure in the previous 20 years, according to Singh.

NCB Uncovers Darknet Trafficking
The NCB officer told the news agency ANI that the drug network was spread throughout nations including Poland, the Netherlands, and the United States as well as some Indian states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as the Delhi-NCR. “We seized 2.5 kilogrammes of marijuana, Rs. 4.65 lakh, and Rs. 20 lakhs deposited in bank accounts,” Singh claimed. “The substance used to come from Poland, the Netherlands, and the United States and be imported into India. According to him, the drug trafficking network operated on the darknet and accepted cryptocurrency payments. He claimed that because LSD may be delivered by books and has no taste or fragrance, it is hard to detect. He expressed worry over the drug’s rising popularity among young people in the nation.
