Navratri 2022 Day 3: On the third day of Navratri, which occurs on September 28 this year, devotees of the goddess Durga will worship Maa Chandraghanta. The nine days of this fortunate festival are each devoted to a different manifestation of the Navdurgas (nine avatars of Goddess Durga). Goddess Parvati’s married form is known as Maa Chandraghanta. She is also known as Chandrakhanda, Chandika, or Rannchandi, and she is a representation of bravery and fearlessness.
Navratri 2022 Day 3: Significance
According to Hindu mythology, when Lord Shiva arrived to King Himavan’s court to wed Maa Parvati. Her mother, Maina Devi, fainted out seeing his unusual avatar. Lord Shiva’s wedding procession included ghosts, sages, goblins, and ghouls, and he wore a snake around his neck and had unruly hair. After praying to Lord Shiva, who, thereafter manifested as a lovely Prince, Goddess Parvati assumed the shape of Maa Chandraghanta. The two subsequently wed.

Mahagauri became known as Goddess Chandraghanta when she began to wear a half Chandra on her forehead. She has ten hands, rides a tiger to symbolise bravery, and has Chandra, the semi-circular moon, adorning her forehead. Goddess Chandraghanta has a lotus flower, arrow, Dhanush, and Japa Mala in her right hands while holding Trishul, Gada, Sword, and Kamandal in her left hands (her fifth hand is in Varada Mudra) (her fifth hand is in Abhaya Mudra).
The third day of Navratri is significant because Maa Chandraghanta is renowned for slaying her followers’ threats. Additionally, her blessings can purge her worshippers’ lives of all crimes, hardships, and bad energy. The Goddess is also credited with overseeing the planet Shukra and preserving peace in everyone’s lives.
Navratri 2022 Day 3: Pooja Vidhi
On Day 3, devotees are advised to rise early, take a bath, and put on fresh, clean clothing. Put the goddess’s idol on a chowki or your puja altar and give it a bath using Kesar, Ganga Jal, and Kewra. The Goddess should then be dressed in gold and given yellow flowers, jasmine, panchamrit, and mishri. Maa Chandraghanta is also given a special bhog of kheer.
Navratri 2022 Day 3: Muhurat Timings
The third day of Navratri falls on September 28 this year. The Brahma Muhurta on this day begins at 04:36 and concludes at 05:24. There will be a Vijaya Muhurta from 02:11 to 02:59. In addition, the Ravi Yoga will run from 05:52 on September 29 to 06:13 on September 29 and the Amrit Kaal will last from 09:12 on September 28 to 10:47 on September 28.

Navratri 2022 Day 3: Color
The third day of Navratri is coloured royal blue. This vibrant colour represents wealth and tranquilly.

On the third day of Navratri, devotees worship Maa Chandraghanta, the goddess Durga’s avatar, by giving her kheer as prasad.
