Navratri 2022: Hindus, throughout the world, celebrate Navratri as a significant festival. Devotees celebrate the occasion with tremendous zeal, donning clothes in nine different colours and worshipping the goddess in nine different forms.
On 30th September 2022, the fifth day of Navratri, devotees worship Maa Skandamata, one of the nine manifestations of the Goddess. According to Hindu mythology, the goddess Skandamata rides a lion and has four hands. In each of her hands, she is holding a different thing. She carries Lord Skanda, her son in his infant form in one hand, and Abhaymudra, her other child, in the other.

Her other two hands are similarly occupied by lotus blossoms. Skandamata’s name denotes that she is Lord Skanda’s mother.

People who worship Maa Skandamata are said to be bestowed with happiness, wealth, and power.
Navratri 2022: Day 5 Colour
On the fifth day of Navratri, worshippers should wear green since it represents optimism and well-being. During Navratri, wearing different colours on different days is considered lucky.
Navratri 2022: Day 5 Skandmata Pooja Vidhi
Devotees should first take an early morning wash and dress in Green. It represents cheerfulness, optimism, good health, and happiness in clothing. Then, the worshippers should erect the goddess’s idol on a chowki and present it with yellow flowers, kumkum, ghee, and Gangajal.
Bananas are offered as bhog to Goddess Skandamata as a form of adoration. In order to appease the Goddess, many people also make dishes with bananas.
Navratri 2022: Day 5 Skandmata Shubh Muhurat
The Amrit Kalam will be observed from 6:18 to 7:51 PM, and the Brahma Muhurt will occur from 4:37 to 5:25 AM. On the other hand, Vijaya Muhurt will emerge between 2:10 PM to 02:58 PM.

Devotees should recite the following mantra on the fifth day of Navratri.
Simhasanagata Nityam Padmanchita Karadvaya
Shubhadastu Sada Devi Skandamata Yashasvini॥
