Navratri 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished for success in everyone’s life on Maha Navami. Prime Minister shared a stuti dedicated to Goddess Siddhidhatri, PM Modi tweeted in Hindi. He wrote in the caption, “The Maha Navami is celebrated for Goddess Siddhidhatri. May all of you be inspired to walk on the path of duty, as well as achieve success in life. Heartiest congratulations!”

Navmi is believed the day of Maa Siddhidhatri

The ninth day of Navratri celebrated as Maha Navami and it is dedicated to the ninth form of Goddess Durga, Maa Siddhidhatri. It is believed that Maa Durga killed the demon Mahishasura on this day, and hence she is also known as Mahishasura Mardini. Goddess Siddhidatri is the source of all siddhis  and possesses all siddhis. As per hindu inscriptions, she blesses her devotees with good fortune and provides them with salvation. Pink is the color on the ninth day of Navratri signifies love, compassion and freshness. Devotees offer coconut, kheer and panchamrit to Goddess Sidhidhartri.

People also perform Kanya Pujan is also performed with 9 young girls in the age group of 2 to 10, who are regarded as the Kanjaks. These nine  kanjaks are revered as the forms of Goddess Durga. During the ritual on Maha Navami, the devotees were the feet of the girls with water and they do their tilak after washing their feets. They tie a red thread (moli or kalava) around their wrist and also offer Prasad to them. After giving the meal, the worshippers touch the feet of the girls to seek their blessings and they also give those presents on this auspicious day.
