Navratri 2023 Day 3: Throughout the nation, Shardiya Navratri is being observed with utmost ardour and passion. On October 15, the first day of Shardiya Navratri 2023, devotees offered prayers to Maa Shailputri and Maa Brahmacharini. On the third day of the celebration, Maa Chandraghanta will be worshipped by Hindu worshippers. Goddess Chandraghanta, the wedded form of Durga, is admired for her grace, bravery, and fearlessness.
The goddess of courage and new beginnings
The goddess Chandraghanta got her name from the half-chandra on her brow. When Goddess Durga married Lord Shiva, she began to wear the half-chandra. Maa Chandraghanta is another representation of Durga’s wedded form. Maa Chandraghanta is depicted holding the Trishul, Gada, Sword, and Kamandal in her four left hands, and the lotus flower, Arrow, Dhanush, and Japa Mala in her four right hands. She is holding her fifth hand in the Abhaya mudra with her fifth right hand and the Varada mudra with her fifth left hand.
