NEET 2024: In light of the present controversy surrounding paper leaks, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has demanded that the NEET exam be immediately cancelled. He criticised the BJP for their purported participation and says that the INDIA coalition is unified on this subject.
Tejashwi Yadav Urges for NEET Exam Cancellation
In a recent statement, Tejashwi Yadav emphasized the need to cancel the NEET exam following allegations of a significant paper leak. “The INDIA alliance is united on this issue. We want the NEET exam to be immediately cancelled,” Yadav stated, highlighting the collective stance of his political allies.
Accusations Against BJP
Tejashwi Yadav did not hold back in his accusations against the BJP. He accused the ruling party of using investigation agencies to distract from the main culprits of the paper leak. “The BJP has all the investigation agencies; they can call the PS or PA anyone for probe… They want to divert the issue from the kingpin,” he remarked, stressing that targeting his aides would not yield any benefits.
Blame on Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand
According to Yadav, the real masterminds behind the paper leak are Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar. He claimed that while an engineer might have benefited from the leak, the orchestrators are high-ranking individuals. “Those who want to drag my name or my PA’s name, this will not benefit anyone… The engineer who is talked about could be a beneficiary, but Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar are the masterminds of the paper leak,” Yadav asserted, pointing fingers at the senior leaders.
Vijay Kumar Sinha’s Allegations
The controversy intensified after Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha alleged that Tejashwi Yadav’s aide was involved in the paper leak. Sinha claimed that Preetam Kumar, Yadav’s aide, called an employee of the Bihar Road Construction Department (RCD) to arrange accommodation for Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu, an engineer who has implicated a ‘Mantri Ji’ in the NEET exam irregularities.
The Role of Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu
The controversy’s main figure, Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu, said that he suggested accommodation for his nephew Anurag Yadav, a NEET candidate. Anurag Yadav resided in a government home in Patna with his mother and other accomplices. Due to his role in the exam irregularities, Anurag Yadav is currently in jail, which further complicates the controversy that is developing.
