New Parliament: Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Saturday retweeted videos shared by superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar on the new Parliament building. Several celebrities and political leaders shared the videos after PM Modi’s “special request”.
On May 25 PM Modi had shared a video offering a glimpse of the new building. The video didn’t have any commentary or background music. Sharing the video, PM Modi wrote, “I have a special request – share this video with your own voice-over, which conveys your thoughts. I will re-Tweet some of them.”
New house of our hopes, says Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan shared the video and called the new building a “new home for the people who uphold our Constitution”.
With the song ‘Ye jo Des hai tera…’ from his movie Swades playing in the background, Shahrukh said, “The new building. The new house of our hopes. A home for the people who uphold our Constitution where 140 crore Indians become one family.”
He continued, “May this new home be so big that it has a place for everyone from every village, city and every corner of the country. May the arms of the new home embrace people from all castes, creeds and religions.”
He captioned the video, “A new Parliament building for a New India but with the age-old dream of glory for India. PM Modi retweeted the video with a comment, “Beautifully expressed!”
Iconic symbol of India’s growth story: Akshay
The PM also retweeted the video that was shared by Akshay Kumar with his voice-over.
Akshay Kumar said, “Proud to see this glorious new building of the Parliament. May this forever be an iconic symbol of India’s growth story.”
Reacting to his tweet, Modi said, “You have conveyed your thoughts very well. Our new Parliament is truly a beacon of our democracy. It reflects the nation’s rich heritage and the vibrant aspirations for the future.”
Rajinikanth thanks prime minister
The prime minister also responded to superstar Rajinikanth who applauded his decision to install the historic Sengol in the new Parliament building. Rajinikanth thanked PM Modi and said he had made Tamilians proud.
PM Modi replied to him and said, it was “a pleasure” to see the culture of Tamil Nadu taking a “place of pride” in the new Parliament building.
Earlier, PM Modi had urged people to share a video of the new building on Twitter with the hashtag ‘MyParliamentMyPride’.
