Nitin Gadkari: The Union transit Minister commented on the recent advancements in urban transit in India and stated that the government is looking into the possibility of implementing skybus services in major metropolises. At the India Economic Conclave in New Delhi, the minister declared that enhancing urban mobility is essential to the prosperity of the entire nation.
Minister Explores Skybus Proposal for Delhi-Gurugram Route
“I’m looking into the prospect of running an overhead-tracked skybus between Delhi and Gurugram. In a fireside talk with Times Network Group Editor Navika Kumar, the minister stated, “This would be done in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. The minister said, “Through these new ideas and rural development, we will be able to build the nation.” The Skybus is a cutting-edge idea for urban transport that was created to deal with the problems of congestion and traffic in cities. It allows flexibility in route design and uses elevated tracks or guideways to transport passengers.

Gadkari’s Proposal for Skybus Service Gains Momentum
They are often powered by electric motors, which makes them quiet and environmentally sustainable. Gadkari suggested a skybus service in Bengaluru as a solution to the never-ending traffic problem in the IT hub last year. The minister had previously declared that a foreign consultant had been appointed to do a feasibility study on the possibility of a mass rapid transport system in Bengaluru that is modelled after skybuses. The minister outlined the numerous benefits of greater transport infrastructure, stating that middle-class families in India have begun purchasing used cars and travelling to tourist destinations as a result of improved road connection.
