Janata Dal (United) supremo and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on June 12 will chair a meeting with the opposition parties informed party leader Manjit Singh.
Singh said while talking to news agency ANI, “June 12 has been decided for the meeting, and CM Nitish Kumar will chair the meeting.”
“The meeting will send a message to the entire nation. The country’s development will begin from Bihar, and every political party with a similar ideology would stand together,” said Singh.
After Nitish Kumar’s discussions with various state leaders, the opposition held a conference in the state capital. For the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, Nitish has been organising the Opposition’s unity to take on the ruling BJP at the Centre.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, will also be present at the meeting.
This follows meetings between CM Nitish Kumar and various state leaders. In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Nitish has been rallying the support of the state governors to take on the incumbent BJP at the federal level.
On May 21, Nitish Kumar met with Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, to offer his support in opposition to the Center’s ordinance, which overturns the Supreme Court decision giving the Delhi government final authority over the appointment and removal of officers and service-related concerns.
