Digvijaya Singh: Launching a scathing attack against BJP-led government at the Centre, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday said no reports of 2016 surgical strike or the 2019 Pulwama terror attack before Parliament till date. He further accused the Union government of living off lies.
No reports of Pulwama Attack and Surgical strike
Digvijaya Singh said that the government has failed in presenting a report of 2019 Pulwama attack and 2016 surgical strike.
“40 of our CRPF jawans were martyred in Pulwama. CRPF officials had requested PM Modi that personnel should be airlifted, but PM Modi didn’t agree. How did such a lapse take place? Till date, no report on Pulwama was placed before Parliament,” Digvijaya Singh said.
“They claimed a surgical strike was carried out, but didn’t show proof. They only spread lies,” he added.
“First of all, we condemn the terror attacks in Dhangri in Rajouri and Narwal in Jammu. The situation in J-K is not what is being propagated after the abrogation of Article 370. Targeted and selective killings and bomb blasts have started once again,” Singh told reporters on Sunday.
2016 Surgical Strike
India had carried out surgical strikes in 2016. The Indian Army carried out the operation 10 days after the URI terror attack in which 18 Indian soldiers attained martyrdom.
According to media reports, Indian commandos entered three Kilometres across the Line of Control to conduct the surgical strikes. Indian DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh had said that Pakistan had been informed about the same.
