Vande Bharat Express: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the train, giving Odisha its first Vande Bharat Express. The 16-coach train will travel from Howrah to Puri over a distance of 500 miles, taking about six and a half hours to complete. Today in Odisha, PM Modi will also lay the cornerstone for and dedicate a number of railway projects worth more than 8,000 crores of rupees.
Leaders Visit Jagannath Temple Ahead of Vande Bharat Express Inauguration
Ashwini Vaishnaw, Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education, and BJP leader Sambit Patra visited Jagannath Temple in Puri before the Vande Bharat Express train’s debut. This was in preparation for Odisha’s inaugural Vande Bharat Express train. The Prime Minister would use the virtual mode to flag off the Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express from Puri at roughly 1:00 pm on Thursday, according to a SER official.

Vande Bharat Express Promises Speed, Comfort, and Choice
Passengers would have a “much faster and comfortable journey” on the new Vande Bharat Express, claims PMO. The plan will also encourage economic growth and improve tourism. ‘Vande Bharat is a representation of the aspirational Indians and developed India.’ At the debut of the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express train, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Vande Bharat epitomises India’s pace and progress as it moves from one location to another.’ The train has two different carriage types: executive chairs and AC chairs. The cost of an AC chair on the Puri-Howrah line is Rs. 1,430, including Rs. 328 for catering, while the cost of an executive chair car is Rs. 2,615, including Rs. 389 for food. The catering fee will not be applied to the cost if passengers choose the “No Food Option,” which is an optional food selection.
