Opposition hits Kerala CM on free vaccine announcement amid local body polls

After the Kerala government has announced that they will provide free vaccine to all in the state, the opposition has alleged that the Chief Minister that the announcement is just a move to influence voters in the local body polls.

The United Democratic Front convenor MM Hasan said they will lodge a complaint against Kerala Chief Minister over violation of the model code of conduct that is in force in the state in connection with the local body polls.

In reply to UDF’s statement LDF also targeted and made their stand clear by saying, “The UDF allegation is childish. The Covid-19 treatment in the state is being provided free of cost. The announcement of giving the vaccine also free of cost was part of the process of him explaining details of the treatment,” the LDF convener said.

Yesterday while addressing media, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, the government has no intention of levying a charge for the COVID vaccine.
