Within the framework of the Kashmiri poet Ahmed Farhad Shah’s abduction case, the IHC emphasized PoK as a foreign territory. The case has highlighted the limitations of Pakistani authorities and the difficulties surrounding jurisdiction in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which has a different legal system than the rest of the country.

Renowned for his audacious poetry, Ahmed Farhad Shah was reportedly kidnapped from his home. The government has been under pressure from the IHC, led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, for Shah’s recovery. The seriousness and urgency of the crisis are demonstrated by the court’s insistence on calling for the attendance of senior officials, including the prime minister. Shah was held in police custody in Pakistani Kurdistan (Pokhara), despite the Pakistani government’s original claim that he was not in the hands of its intelligence services. This development raised concerns about the administration and legal monitoring of the region.
Amit Shah’s Assertion on PoK
This occurrence aligns with previous remarks made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, who reiterated India’s sovereignty over the Province of Kashmir. Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that India owns Kashmir, which is occupied by Pakistan, and that “we will take it.”In addition, he accused the Congress of trying to “terrify us” by making false accusations that the neighboring nation was in possession of atomic weapons.

Pakistani Public Reaction on PoK as Foreign Territory
A Pakistani Youtube channel Real Entertainment TV, take the opinion of the public of Pakistan on IHC statement that PoK is a foreign territory. When a Pakistani man asked about “which part of Kashmir is Pakistan or India?” he replied, “Look, for Kashmiris, the nation says that it was Karabagh, you understand that. For a long time, we gave a churna to the nation, that was the Ghazwa Hind. When that churna could not be successful, our own institutions started working against their country. The second important thing in this is that this country is made in the name of Allah and His Messenge. We have never followed that thing.”
he added, “We have made our God America. Those pro-Americans have come and sat down again. Now you asked a question about Kashmir. For Kashmiris, all the troops you collected, who did you collect for? The purpose of saying this is that as long as we talk about a democracy, the system of democracy cannot fix this country.”

Have you ever thought about it? That is the territory that is your part.They are saying that fundamental rights should be given. When you do not give fundamental rights to those people properly, you will not pay them as much as they were born there.”
He added, “Your so-called representatives are sitting there in the Kashmiri government. It is not the Kashmiri government. It is the government implementing Pakistan on them. When you do not give the basic needs of a nation for 70 years, eventually they will consider that we do not want to live with them. We want to leave them. We will make our own country. Now there are protests there.”
