Paragliding Tourist From Maharashtra Falls To Death

A 30-year-old tourist from Maharashtra fell and died while paragliding in Dobhi area of ​​Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. According to eyewitnesses, due to some technical fault during paragliding, the person fell from a height of hundreds of feet. The tourist died on the spot, while the pilot of the paraglider is safe. The deceased has been identified as Suraj Sanjay Shah (30) of Shirwal village in Satara district of Maharashtra. He had come to visit Manali with his friends.

Youth dies after falling down during paragliding


Kullu Superintendent of Police (SP) Gurdev Sharma said on Sunday that the police received information that a person fell from a paraglider while flying at a high altitude in Dobhi area. The pilot is safe, but the tourist died on the spot, he said. The SP said, “A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code sections 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304A (causing death by negligence).”

Many deaths have happened even before paragliding

Earlier also in Himachal, many people have died due to falling during paragliding. Some time ago the boy living in Bangalore had also died. Taking cognizance of the cases of paragliding, the Himachal Pradesh High Court had banned paragliding and many other adventure sports in January this year. After which a technical committee was also formed. This committee had given permission for adventure sports to some operators who fulfilled the necessary criteria.

A South Korean man had died during paragliding in Kadi of Mehsana district of Gujarat just last Saturday. This person had fallen from a height of 50 feet while paragliding.
