Petrol And Diesel Price Update [5 May, 2023]: On Friday, May 5, petrol and diesel prices were stable in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Over the last eleven months, petrol and diesel prices have remained stable. However, prices in individual cities fluctuate on a daily basis.
The last countrywide change in the prices of petrol and diesel took place on May 21 when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman slashed the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 and Rs 6 on diesel.

The difference in the price of fuel in the states is due to the tax and the cost of transportation imposed by the central and state government.
