A petrol bomb was hurled at an RSS leader’s house in Tambaram near Chennai on Saturday. However, no person was injured or there was any major damage to property in the incident. Police gave this information.
Tamil Nadu Police told that petrol bomb was hurled at the residence of RSS worker Sitharaman in Chitlapakkam in Tambaram. Efforts are on to nab two unidentified persons who threw petrol bombs.
62-year-old Sitharaman is the district coordinator of the RSS. He was inside the house with his family when the petrol bomb was hurled. Hearing the sound of the blast, all the family members came out.
The RSS leader said that around four o’clock in the morning we heard a loud sound and saw a fire outside. We were thinking there was a short circuit but it was not. We doused the fire and informed the police officials.
Police officials of Chitlapakkam reached the spot after getting information about the matter. He checked the CCTV footage of the area. In which it was learned that two persons on a two-wheeler stopped in front of their house, set a bottle full of petrol on fire and threw the bottle inside the house.
Pallikaranai Deputy Commissioner Jose Thangaiah inspected the place where the petrol bomb was hurled. He interrogated many people. Sensation spread in Tambaram area after the incident.
Earlier on Friday night, a bottle bomb was also hurled at the residence of Sarath, a BJP worker in Kuniyamuthur town of Tamil Nadu. In this, a car was damaged in the attack. Similarly, a bottle filled with flammable material was thrown at the BJP office on Thursday.
After this, BJP workers demanded action against the culprits. According to the BJP, it was a terrorist attack.
