New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday and took stock of the flood situation in the state, said a senior official of the state government.
Modi assured Banerjee all central assistance to improve the flood situation.
The Chief Minister, who visited the flood hit Udaynarayanpur will send a report to the PMO on the flood condition and damages caused by the flood after the survey is completed, said the official.
At least 15 people were killed and about 3 lakh were displaced as large parts of six districts of the states was affected due to heavy fall and the release of water by the Damodar Valley Corporation and the Durgapur Barrage.
Almost 15 people died and lakhs of people were left homeless as the flood situation in six districts of West Bengal arrived on Tuesday.
Around three lakh people got displaced after heavy fall in the past few days.
