The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today attended the closing ceremony of the 400th birth anniversary celebrations of Lachit Barphukan.
During this, he also visited the exhibition organized on Lachit Barphukan at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi. Addressing the program, Prime Minister Modi said, I salute the great land of Assam which has given heroes like Lachit to Mother India. It is my good fortune that I got the opportunity to join this program. On this occasion, I convey my congratulations and best wishes to the people of Assam and all the countrymen.
The Prime Minister said, today India is proudly remembering the historical heroes and heroines of its culture. Mother Bharati’s immortal children like Lachit are our constant inspiration. I bow to Lachit on this auspicious occasion. He said, if someone wants to make us bow down with the force of the sword, wants to change our eternal identity, then we also know how to respond to that. The land of Assam and the Northeast has been a witness to this. The valor and courage shown by Veer Lachit was the culmination of immense love for the motherland.
India’s history is not only of slavery
Prime Minister Modi said, India’s history was suppressed. The history of India is not just the history of slavery. The history of India is the history of warriors. There is a history of showing unprecedented bravery and bravery against the oppressors.
Taught Conspiracy Created History
PM Modi said, unfortunately, even after independence, we were taught the same history, which was hatched during the period of slavery. After independence, there was a need to change the agenda of the foreigners who enslaved us, but this was not done. In every corner of the country, how the brave sons and daughters of Mother India fought the terrorists and dedicated their lives. This history was deliberately suppressed.
PM’s true tribute to Make in India Lachit Barphukan
During this, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the mantra of self-reliance to the people of the country through Make in India. He said, this is as a tribute from the Prime Minister to Lachit Barphukan, as the weapons he used in the fight against the Mughals were made by the people of Assam. He said, the journey of Atmanirbhar Bharat had started only then and now Prime Minister Modi has taken it forward.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, Prime Minister Modi has always inspired us to shed light on the unsung heroes of our history. It is our effort to bring the glorious story of Lachit Barphukan in front of the country, he said, but the efforts of the government alone are not enough. People and historians should also make efforts in this direction. CM Sarma said, historians are requested that India is not just the story of Aurangzeb, Babur, Jahangir or Humayun. India belongs to Lachit Barphukan, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, Durgadas Rathore.
