Starting today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meditate for 45 hours at the well-known Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanniyakumari, Tamil Nadu. This momentous occasion comes after his electoral rallies for the Lok Sabha’s last round have concluded.
PM Modi Visits Bhagavathi Amman Temple
When PM Modi arrived in Kanniyakumari on Thursday evening, he went to the holy Bhagavathi Amman temple and offered prayers. His spiritual retreat began with this visit, which established a calm atmosphere for his meditation.
Previous Meditation Sessions
PM Modi has engaged in similar spiritual practices previously. Following his election campaign in 2019, he meditated in a Kedarnath cave. Similarly, his visit to Shivaji’s Pratapgarh in 2014 demonstrated his dedication to blending spirituality with leadership. Both times, the BJP won decisively, securing an absolute majority with 282 seats out of 543 in 2014 and 303 seats in 2019, with the NDA coalition winning 352 seats. This third spiritual retreat gives the BJP confidence in winning the Lok Sabha election once again, making the opposition worried. The BJP has set ambitious targets of 370 seats for itself and 400 for the NDA in the upcoming elections.
Meditation at Dhyan Mandapam
It is planned that Modi would meditate at the Dhyan Mandapam in the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. This location is significant historically because it is said to be the location of Swami Vivekananda’s heavenly vision of “Bharat Mata.” Here, the prime minister will meditate from Thursday night till June 1st evening.
Security Measures for PM Modi’s Stay
There have been extensive security preparations made for the 45-hour stay of the prime minister. To guard him, 2,000 police officers would be on duty, along with close observation from the Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy.
Planned Visit to Thiruvalluvar Statue
PM Modi is expected to pay a visit to the Thiruvalluvar statue, which is situated next to the memorial, before his departure on June 1. The statue and memorial are situated on different islands, which heightens the place’s spiritual atmosphere.
