PM Modi: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used video conferencing to signal the start of the inaugural Vande Bharat Express in Assam. Additionally, this marks the launch of Vande Bharat in the Northeast. According to PM Modi, the first Northeast Vande Bharat train’s debut is anticipated to increase connectivity and give a boost to tourism in the region.
Boosting Connectivity and Tourism in Northeast India
“The Vande Bharat Express will boost business and tourism by connecting key destinations such as Kamakhya Temple, Kaziranga Sanctuary, Manas Tiger Reserve in Assam, Shillong and Cherrapunji in Meghalaya, and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh,” he claimed. The Prime Minister made fun of Assam’s past governments by claiming that the state had been “devoid” of growth for a long period prior to the BJP taking office there in 2016. It is anticipated that the train, which runs between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri, will reduce travel time between the two cities by around an hour. It will take five and a half hours to complete the 410-kilometer trek. The 18th Vande Bharat Express service began operating today (Monday), and this is it. The train will leave New Jalpaiguri at 6:10 in the morning and arrive in Guwahati at 12:30. The Vande Bharat Express leaves Guwahati at 4.30 pm and arrives in New Jalpaiguri at around 10:20 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision
PM Modi stated on May 28 that the launch of the Vande Bharat train will enhance socioeconomic development and encourage tourism. PM Modi will also officially open 182 miles of freshly electrified portions, the PMO said in a statement. Trains will run more quickly and for a shorter period of time as a result, contributing to the provision of pollution-free transportation.
