Aero India 2023: The 14th edition of Aero India 2023 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru today, marking it as the largest aeronautical exhibition in Asia. Over the course of five days, the show will feature a variety of aircraft and technologies from multiple exhibitors, with a focus on showcasing locally developed equipment. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was present at the inauguration ceremony.
Over 80 nations in the Aero India 2023
The opening of the air show was led by the Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari of the Indian Air Force, who conducted a flypast as part of the Gurukul formation. The theme of Aero India 2023 is “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The event aims to bring international investors together and encourage co-development and co-production partnerships, helping to integrate domestic MSMEs and start-ups into the global supply chain.
Over 80 nations took part in Aero India 2023, with participation from 65 CEOs of global and Indian OEMs and ministers from around 30 countries. The exhibition saw the presence of more than 800 defense companies, including 100 foreign and 700 Indian firms. The Indian companies participating in the exhibition, including MSMEs and start-ups, showcased the advancements in niche technologies and growth in the country’s aerospace and defense capabilities.
Who were present at Aero India 2023 launch?
The event was attended by major exhibitors such as Airbus, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Israel Aerospace Industry, BrahMos Aerospace, Army Aviation, HC Robotics, SAAB, Safran, Rolls Royce, Larsen and Toubro, Bharat Forge Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), and BEML Limited. The five-day event will showcase the rise of a strong and self-reliant “New India” by highlighting India’s growth in aerospace and defense capabilities.
