Delhi News: At Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for two more corridors that will be part of Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro. The Delhi Metro Phase-IV project’s two corridors would cost a total of Rs. 8,399 crore. There will be 20.762 km between these two lines.
Connectivity Enhancements
“The Inderlok – Indraprastha corridor will be an extension of the Green Line and will provide interchange with the Red, Yellow, Airport Line, Magenta, Violet and Blue Lines, while the Lajpat Nagar – Saket G Block corridor will connect the Silver, Magenta, Pink and Violet Lines,” the government said in a press release.
The Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block route will feature eight stations and be fully elevated, according to the government. There will be ten stations along the Inderlok-Indraprastha line.
PM Modi’s Interaction with PM SVANidhi Programme Participants
Additionally, PM Modi communicates with PM SVANidhi programme participants. He gave out loans to one lakh street vendors (SVs) under the initiative, five thousand of them were from Delhi. “Till now, more than 82 lakh loan, amounting to over ₹10,978 crore, have been disbursed to more than 62 lakh street vendors across the country,” stated the announcement.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “Today’s program PM SVANidhi Mahotsav is dedicated to those who are always around us and without them we cannot imagine our lives. We saw the power of these street vendors during the COVID…Today, I heartily congratulate each of our street vendors, street vendors, and roadside shopkeepers on this event.”
Recognition of Past Neglect
According to PM Modi, street vendors were never a priority for past administrations. “They (vedors) faced insults, could not get bank loans,” he stated. He claimed that the BJP government is working around the clock to improve the lives of the middle class and the impoverished.
