PM Modi Apologises for Shivaji Maharaj Statue Incident
In his address, PM Modi responded to the recent incident where a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fell in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. He expressed deep regret, stating, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not just a name for us… today I bow my head and apologise to my god Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Our values are different, we are not those people who keep abusing and insulting the great son of Mother India, the son of this land, Veer Savarkar. They are not ready to apologize, they are ready to go to the courts and fight.”
PM Modi Criticises Opposition
During his speech, after apologizing for the Shivaji Maharaj statue incident, PM Modi targeted the opposition. He emphasised that his party does not disrespect national heroes like Veer Savarkar, who played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle.
Foundation Stone for Vadhavan Port
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for Vadhavan Port in Palghar. He mentioned that in 2020, the decision to build this port was made. However, after the government changed, there was no progress for two and a half years. He highlighted the economic potential of this project, estimating that it could attract investments worth several lakh crores and create around 1.2 million jobs. PM Modi questioned who was opposed to Maharashtra’s development and why some people did not want the youth of Maharashtra to benefit from these opportunities.
