Prime Minister suggested “changes” are needed
During conversations with senior party figures, the Prime Minister reportedly made the suggestion that “changes” needed to be made. According to a top party official, the Prime Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the outcomes of the recent elections in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and the Delhi Municipal Corporation, notwithstanding the historic victory in Gujarat. Some of his important ministers and party office holders have reportedly found this view to be highly “disturbing.”
The outcome of the Delhi MCD elections and the Himachal Assembly elections dealt the BJP a death blow even though they had annihilated the Opposition in the Gujarat Assembly elections. A senior party leader claimed that some of the Himachal Pradesh and Delhi MPs who appeared to have engaged in factionalism during the elections were moving around “quite nervous.”

Why rearrangement is necessary?
The suggested rearrangement would be implemented in light of the upcoming elections in nine states this year and the national election in 2024, though it is unclear which leaders may be fired. Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan are the nine states that will have elections this year. It was discovered that the MPs from the states with upcoming elections might be included in the reorganised Cabinet.
Some MPs who have been “star campaigners” in different states anticipate being appointed to the Modi Cabinet, despite rumours that the PM may remove “non-performing” ministers.
Since this may be the final cabinet shift prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Modi Cabinet has entered a frenzy of negotiations. In recognition of the party’s outstanding achievement in the most recent Assembly elections, at least two Gujarati MPs are set to get bonuses. Additionally, sources claimed that the Prime Minister was thinking about adding more women to the Union Cabinet.
