Centre has declared a two-day state mourning across India

As a gesture of respect for the senior lawmaker, the Centre has declared a two-day state mourning across India. “On the days of mourning, the national flag will be flown half mast on all buildings where the national flag is regularly flown, and there will be no official entertainment on these two days,” according to a government statement. In the aftermath of a farmers’ protest in 2020, Badal’s party recently severed ties with the BJP.
