Emphasizing on a practical-based and industry-oriented education system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the central government is working on providing internships and apprenticeships to the youth of the country to give them ‘exposure outside the classroom’.

‘Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underlined that skilling and education should be two important factors during India’s Amrit Kaal. Youth are the main tools and it is the youth who are the nectar of the country from the point of view of developed India. Leading the journey.This is the third in a series of 12 post-budget webinars organized by the government to seek ideas and suggestions for effective implementation of initiatives announced in the Union Budget 2023.
The PM said that new technology is also helping in building a new type of classroom. We have also experienced during Covid, so today the government is focusing on such tools which can ensure anywhere access of knowledge.
Youth and their future matter most
The Prime Minister said, ‘The youth and their future have been given the most importance in the Amrit Kaal budget. Over the years our education sector has been a victim of rigidity, we have tried to change this. We have re-orientated education and scaling up according to merit. Youth is the demand of the coming times.
Highlighting the special emphasis on the youth and their future in the first budget of the Amrit period, the Prime Minister said that this year’s budget will strengthen the foundation of the education system by making it more practical and industry-oriented.
He lamented the lack of flexibility in the education system over the years and mentioned the government’s efforts to bring about change.
The PM said, ‘Education and skills have been re-oriented according to the abilities of the youth and the demands of the future. As part of the new education policy, equal emphasis is being laid on both education and skilling, and the move has found support from teachers.
The Prime Minister said that this step encourages the government to make further reforms in the education and skill sectors, freeing our students from the rules of the past.
