PM Modi to address 108th Indian Science Congress virtually on Tuesday

PM Modi: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remotely address the 108th Indian Science Congress’ opening session (ISC).

“Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment,” is the ISC’s main theme this year, and it’s anticipated that it will highlight strategies for boosting the representation of women in science and technology.

Luminaries attending the inaugural session

Among the luminaries attending the inaugural session are Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, union minister Nitin Gadkari, union minister of state for earth sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The conference is anticipated to open up conversation on topics such as women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), women’s empowerment, and the contribution of science and technology to sustainable development.

PMO ‘s statement

PMO said in a statement, “The participants will discuss and deliberate on ways to increase the number of women in higher echelons of teaching, research, and industry, along with trying to find ways to provide women with equal access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education, research opportunities, and economic participation.”

The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Amravati Road Campus will host the event.
