PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch several significant projects to accelerate Jharkhand’s development. PM Modi is scheduled to visit Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Sunday. While there, he will lay the foundation stones for several development projects valued at ₹ 21,000 crore, as well as flag off six new Vande Bharat Express trains. These programs are a cornerstone of the Center’s dedication to creating Jharkhand quickly and enhancing the nation’s transportation network.
Flagging Off Six New Vande Bharat Trains
In a landmark event for Indian Railways, PM Modi will flag off six new Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar, Jamshedpur. The new routes will offer faster and more comfortable travel options, enhancing connectivity between key locations. The six routes of the new Vande Bharat trains include:
- Tatanagar to Patna
- Brahmapur to Tatanagar
- Rourkela to Howrah
- Deoghar to Varanasi
- Bhagalpur to Howrah
- Gaya to Howrah
These trains, part of the advanced Vande Bharat 2.0 series, come with upgraded features like fast acceleration, the Kavach safety system, anti-virus protection, and WiFi. They will provide passengers with a faster and safer journey, representing a leap forward in Indian Railways’ ongoing transformation.
PM Modi’s Vision for Jharkhand’s Rapid Development
Before departing for Jharkhand, PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter), “We are determined for the rapid development of Jharkhand. Today at around 10 am, I will have the privilege of flagging off six ‘Vande Bharat’ trains at Tatanagar, as well as laying the foundation stone and inaugurating many more projects. Apart from this, I will also be a part of the program related to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.”
Vande Bharat: A Symbol of India’s Railway Revolution
The Vande Bharat Express trains was first introduced as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. From there Vande Bharat Express trains have quickly become a symbol of India’s railway modernisation. The 54 Vande Bharat trains currently running across the country have made a significant impact and have completed around 36,000 trips and transporting over 3.17 crore passengers.
The Railway Ministry highlighted that the Vande Bharat 2.0 series not only showcases India’s engineering capabilities but also sets new global standards for speed, safety, and service in railway travel. “With these services, Indian Railways is on a path to revolutionise travel in India,” the ministry stated, highlighting the national importance of these trains in connecting diverse regions across India.
₹ 21,000 Crore Development Projects for Jharkhand
Along with the launch of the Vande Bharat trains, PM Modi will also lay the foundations for a number of other Jharkhand development initiatives. The ₹ 21,000 crore worth of these projects are divided among several sectors, such as housing, infrastructure and transportation, and their goal is to boost the economy of Jharkhand and provide greater opportunity for its people.
