The terminal will be equipped with 28 check-in counters along with three passenger boarding bridges and four conveyor belts. The new terminal will significantly boost tourism in the region and will enhance mainland connectivity with the strategic island chain.
The airport is named for Indian Nationalist leader Vinayak Damodar Savarkar popularly known as Veer Savarkar.
