PM Modi: According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit the scene of the train tragedy in Balasore, Odisha, today and meet with the injured in hospitals in Cuttack. After the train tragedy in Odisha last night claimed the lives of more than 280 persons, he also convened a high-level meeting with railway officials. Over 900 people were hurt. At around seven o’clock, one of the train’s coaches derailed at Balasore, causing three trains to collide.
PM Modi will talk about rescue
According to sources, PM Modi will talk about rescue, medical care, and other issues related to the catastrophe involving many trains. The Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, and a cargo train were all involved in the collision. All hospitals in the adjacent regions have been placed on alert, and rescue efforts are currently underway.

NDRF, Disaster Rapid Action Force, and Medical Teams Sends to Balasore Tragedy Site
According to Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep, three NDRF units, four units of the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force, more than 15 fire rescue teams, 30 physicians, 200 police officers, and 60 ambulances have been dispatched to the scene. In the Balasore district, which is situated 250 kilometres south of Kolkata and 170 kilometres north of Bhubaneswar, these three accidents took place close to the Bahanga Baazar station. There are numerous opinions as to which train derailed first and hit the other two trains, but all three crashes happened suddenly.
