Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a four-day visit to Karnataka from today. Here PM Modi unveiled a 108-feet high bronze statue of Bengaluru’s founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) here. Bamboo has been used extensively in this eco-friendly terminal and it is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 5,000 crore, it is also being called Terminal in a Green. KIA officials said the new terminal is expected to serve 25 million people annually.
A KIA official said, T-2 is an example of fine architecture, which in itself is the first terminal in a green. There is greenery everywhere inside and outside, such a view is not seen in any airport in the world. Passing through here, the passengers will feel as if they are going through some garden.
We are further empowering both the development and heritage of Bengaluru, Karnataka,” PM Modi said at a rally in Bengaluru. Today Karnataka has got the first Made in India Vande Bharat train. The Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan train, which takes the people of Karnataka to Ayodhya and Kashi, has also started today. Today the second terminal of Kempegowda International Airport has also been inaugurated. I also got the opportunity to unveil the 108 feet statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda and perform his Jalabhishek. This gigantic statue of Prabhu Kempegowda will inspire us to work relentlessly for the Bangalore of the future, India of the future.
