PM Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the Indian diaspora at Nassau Coliseum in New York, marking the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Long Island in 75 years. Strengthening India-US Ties

In his address, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and praised the Indian diaspora for their contributions to enhancing India’s image globally. He emphasized the growing relationship between India and the United States, focusing on key areas such as technology, education, and defense cooperation.

India’s Role in the Quad Alliance

PM Modi also underscored India’s significant role in the Quad alliance, which includes the U.S., Japan, and Australia. He highlighted India’s commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Modi announced that India will host the next Quad Leaders’ Summit in 2025 and revealed plans for Mumbai to host a Quad Regional Ports and Transportation Conference in the same year.

Diplomatic Engagements and Future Prospects

Earlier, the Prime Minister met U.S. President Joe Biden in Greenville, Delaware, where they discussed important regional and global issues on the sidelines of the Quad Summit. Modi also held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, emphasizing the importance of global partnerships, particularly with Quad members.

Encouraging the Indian Diaspora

PM Modi encouraged the Indian community to stay connected with their homeland and contribute to its development. He praised the diaspora for showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and urged them to continue being ambassadors of India’s progress.

Modi’s U.S. visit includes a series of diplomatic engagements, with potential talks with former U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming U.S. elections in November.
