PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the House during the opening of the 18th Lok Sabha in response to a resolution to express gratitude for the President’s speech. The opposition erupted in loud protests, screaming slogans demanding changes to NEET and justice for Manipur, as soon as PM Modi entered the Lok Sabha.

Prime Minister Modi started his speech in the middle of the chaos, outlining the positions of his government on important matters. He stressed that, in contrast to the previous administrations, his administration has focused more on achieving “Santushtikaran” (satisfaction) than “Tushtikaran” (appeasement). Using this occasion, he also criticised the opposition for a number of corruption issues.

PM Modi’s Response in Lok Sabha

PM Modi emphasised the accomplishments of his government in his response to the debate. He said that his government has always prioritised “Santushtikaran” over “Tushtikaran,” working to benefit all facets of society. This accolade demonstrates his dedication to public service instead of playing politics of appeasement.

PM Modi didn’t hold back while discussing the frauds that beset earlier administrations. He made the observation that in the past, corrupt people kept the remaining 85 paise of every rupee delivered from Delhi, with only 15 paise reaching the rural. Conversely, he claimed that benefits are reaching the most disadvantaged groups in society under his direction without any leakage.

Vision for a Developed India

During his speech, PM Modi shared his vision for a developed India, assuring the citizens that this dream is swiftly becoming a reality. He committed to working tirelessly and with full integrity to achieve this goal.

“I assure the countrymen that we have taken the resolution of Viksit Bharat and we will make efforts to fulfil that resolution and we will do it with full dedication and honesty and we will spend every moment of our time to fulfil this resolution.” PM Modi said, instilling confidence in his government’s mission.

India’s Strong Stance Against Terrorism

PM Modi also highlighted a significant shift in India’s approach to dealing with terrorism. He recounted the situation before 2014 when terrorists could strike at will, targeting innocent people across the country while the government remained passive.

“There was a time before 2014 when terrorists could come and attack wherever they wanted. Innocent people were killed, every corner of India was targeted and the governments used to sit quietly. 2014 ke baad ka Hindustan ghar mein ghus kar maarta hain.”
