In a whirlwind campaign spanning 12 states over 10 days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Gurugram, Haryana, on Monday, marking the inauguration and commencement of 112 National Highway projects valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh crore. Inauguration of Dwarka Expressway Section in Haryana
One of the prime focuses of Prime Minister Modi’s visit will be the inauguration of the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, aimed at enhancing connectivity and alleviating congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48. The 19-km-long stretch in Haryana, constructed at a cost of around Rs 4,100 crore, includes two crucial segments: Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) spanning 10.2 km, and Basai ROB to Kherki Daula covering 8.7 km. This expressway not only facilitates smoother traffic flow but also provides direct access to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.
Key National Highway Projects
Aside from the Dwarka Expressway, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate several other noteworthy projects across various states. These include:
- Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) Package 3 in Delhi, spanning 9.6 km from Nangloi – Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka, aimed at enhancing urban connectivity.
- Lucknow Ring Road development in Uttar Pradesh, comprising three packages with an estimated cost of about Rs. 4,600 crores, to facilitate smoother traffic movement.
- Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 2,950 crores, aimed at improving connectivity in the region.
- Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, along with Dobaspet – Heskote section in Karnataka, among other projects, contributing to the enhancement of the National Highway network.
Foundation Stone Laying for Future Projects
In addition to inaugurating ongoing projects, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for several upcoming National Highway initiatives, including:
- Bengaluru – Kadappa – Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, consisting of 14 packages valued at Rs. 14,000 crores, aimed at bolstering connectivity and economic growth.
- Belgaum – Hungund – Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka, comprising six packages with an estimated cost of Rs. 8,000 crores, aimed at improving connectivity in the region.
- Shamli – Ambala Highway in Haryana, along with projects in Punjab and other states, contributing to the expansion and development of the National Highway network.
