PM Modi US Visit: During a news conference held as part of his ongoing state visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that democracy is ingrained in both Indian and American culture. On Thursday, he spoke at a press conference alongside President Joe Biden at the White House. “Democracy can deliver, and when we talk about democracy, there is no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, or religion,” Prime Minister Modi declared.
Collaborating on Solar Alliance and Addressing Climate Change for Future Generations
When asked about climate change, Prime Minister Modi responded, “We do not believe in exploitation of nature. India is the only G20 member nation that has carried out every pledge made at the summit. India is being developed as a centre for renewable energy.
“We have established a global solar alliance, and currently we are collaborating with a number of nations. We can observe that there has been a significant loss to the infrastructure as a result of natural disasters. We are taking on a global obligation to aid the globe in addressing the climate change challenge because we care about the welfare of our future generations, he continued. White House national security spokesman John Kirby acknowledged the significance of the occasion and expressed his government’s gratitude to PM Modi for taking part in the press conference. He was reported by Reuters as adding, “We think that’s important and we’re glad he thinks that’s important too.”

Democratic Leaders Push for Human Rights Discussion During PM Modi’s State Visit to the US
The press conference was held on a day when a number of American politicians, including Democratic Party leaders Bernie Sanders, Cori Bush, and Ilhan Omar, urged President Joe Biden to express concerns about the alleged oppression of minorities in India while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was still on a state visit to the country. Democratic Party members are exerting pressure on Biden to bring up the subject of press freedom and human rights in his bilateral meetings and to do so directly. Since taking office in 2014, Prime Minister Modi has travelled to the United States five times, but this trip is noteworthy since it is his first official state visit with full diplomatic standing.
