PM Modi Security: Delhi Police was put on a high alert after an ‘unidentified drone-like object’ hovered over Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s House on Monday morning. After a PCR call was received around 5:30 AM that a drone-like object was seen flying over the Prime Minister’s 7 Lok Kalyan Marg Residence in the National Capital, the Delhi Police launched a search operation. However, nothing suspicious was found. Delhi Police has now issued a statement on the suspected security breach.
Delhi Police’s statement
The Delhi Police said that a probe began after they received information from the Special Protection Group (SPG) at 5:30 am about the unfiltered object flying in the no-object zone above the Prime Minister’s residence.
The Delhi Police said in a statement: “Information was received about an unidentified flying object near the PM’s residence. Thorough searches were made in nearby areas but no such object was detected.”
The Police also revealed that the air traffic control room (ATC) was also contacted. They also could not take any flying objects. “At present, due to the sensitive area, the police are investigating. Things will be clear only after verifying the facts,” the officials familiar with the matter said.
PM Modi’s security
Special Protection Group (SPG) looks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security. It is to be noted that PM Modi’s residence comes under the no drone zone area.
Recently, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a new set of rules and said that security will now be handled by an officer not less than the rank of an Additional Director-General belonging to the Indian Police Service (IPS).
