Today, India celebrates a decade of the “Make in India” initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a message on X, PM Modi expressed pride in the nation’s progress and congratulated everyone contributing to its success. The initiative was designed to position India as a global hub for manufacturing and innovation. Over the last ten years, it has driven growth and created new opportunities for industries across the country.
PM Modi’s Message of Pride and Commitment on 10 Years of Make in India
Taking to X PM Modi wrote, “Today, we mark #10YearsOfMakeInIndia. I compliment all those who are tirelessly working to make this movement a success over the last decade. ‘Make in India’ illustrates the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians to make our nation a powerhouse of manufacturing and innovation. It’s noteworthy how exports have risen in various sectors, capacities have been built, and thus, the economy has been strengthened.”
He further stated, “The Government of India is committed to encouraging ‘Make in India’ through all possible ways. India’s strides in reforms will also continue. Together, we will build an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat!”
Piyush Goyal Highlights Key Achievements of 10 Years of Make in India
Union Minister Piyush Goyal also highlighted key achievements from the 10 years of the “Make in India” initiative. He shared that India has launched a startup every hour over the past decade, generating nearly 15 lakh jobs. India now supplies 50% of the world’s vaccines, reflecting its growing role in healthcare. Mobile imports have drastically reduced to ₹7,665 crore in 2023-24, compared to ₹48,609 crore in 2014-15. Additionally, India now ranks 4th globally in renewable energy capacity, showcasing its progress in clean energy initiatives.
