Pod taxi to connect Film City with Jewar Airport in Noida, Project cost estimated at 810 crore, how it will benefit

Uttar Pradesh: There will be a new form of transportation throughout the nation. This is a pod taxi, and a report has been written on it. It will operate in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and link Jewar Airport and Film City. The world’s longest route will be this one. It will be 14.6 kilometres long, according to a report created by the Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRRCL).

Pod taxi will be used to transport a huge number of passengers

According to the planned project, a pod taxi will be used to transport a huge number of passengers. Every day, about 37 thousand passengers will be able to use a pod taxi. Its building won’t begin until the Uttar Pradesh government gives its clearance. End of 2024 is the projected completion date for this project. This project will cost 810 crore to prepare. Film City will be connected to Noida Jewar Airport via Pod Taxi. The first pod taxi initiative in India has received approval from Uttar Pradesh Index, Yamuna Authority. The Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited prepared the DPR’s pod taxi. In addition, the PPP project committee has researched this project. It has been suggested that a study be conducted in the nations where pod taxis are currently in use before its approval.

London’s pod taxis were operating economically

The project claims that pod taxi operations have begun in 18 different nations. Nevertheless, it is only currently operational in 5 nations. Officials cited reports from 2011–12 to claim that while the operation in Abu Dhabi was losing money, London’s pod taxis were operating economically. Between Film City and Jewar Airport, the industrial area will also be serviced by pod taxis. About 12 stations will be present, including Sector 29, Handicraft Park, MSME Park, Apparel Park, Sector 32, Sector 33, Toy Park, and Sector 21, among others.
