The 44 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army and the Shopian Police Department found an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a cooker in Imamsahib on Friday.
The police and the 44 Rashtriya Rifles, who located the explosive device placed inside a cooker before it went off, are believed to have saved a major catastrophe.
An improvised explosive device (IED) was found earlier this month during a minibus check near the Nashri Naka in the Ramban area of Jammu & Kashmir, according to the police.
“Bomb Disposal Squad teams of the police, CRPF and the Army reached the spot and diffused the IED,” Jammu and Kashmir police reported.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, a combined Naka of the police, CRPF, army, and SOG Ramban was established near Nashri today based on reliable information regarding the recovery of the explosive device. During the check, a minibus with the plate number JK06 0858 was stopped and carefully searched. One IED was discovered when a suspicious bag was collected and checked during the search.
“A suspicious device was discovered in a vehicle near Nashri Naka. On this, we provided particular input.
” Police have advised truck drivers to always check their vehicles’ bases and stay alert, she said.
“We keep advising truck and taxi drivers to be alert to the danger of sticky bombs as it is a real threat,” she added.
