In a recent political exchange, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra clashed over the G20 Summit held in Delhi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s Remark:
While addressing a rally in Rajasthan, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra referred to the G20 Summit as “inke G20” (their G20), criticizing the BJP-led government for the flooding at the summit venue. She interpreted this as a sign from God, urging the government to prioritize the country and its people over pride.
Shehzad Poonawalla’s Response:
In response, BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla criticized Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for using the term “inka G20” and accused her of having a mindset problem. He argued that such programs should be seen as part of Bharat Ka (India’s) agenda, not as the property of any particular group or family.
Shashi Tharoor’s Perspective:
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, on the other hand, praised India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant for the ‘Delhi Declaration’ consensus and highlighted it as a proud moment for India at the G20. However, he also raised concerns about the ruling party’s attempt to use the G20 Summit for political gain.
In summary, the G20 Summit in Delhi has become a subject of political controversy, with opposing viewpoints on its significance and the way it is portrayed by different political figures.
